Unique
to Cloudbass' approach to its customers requirements is a set of
principles founded right at the start. One aspect that has always
run through everything that the company has done is that it must
'float our boat'. With too many ways to make money in this world
that are utterly and frustratingly dull, Cloudbass people always
try to look for projects that have somewhere to go or can be done
a different way.
Life's too short for doing things the same. Therefore our key guiding
principles are:

Innovation
TV and other production disciplines have
evolved at of the desire to innovate. As the industry has become
more settled that have emerged certain 'ways of doing things' which
provide a framework for everyone to work within. However, technology
is constantly changing and established working principles can often
be challenged with a view to doing things better, quicker or cheaper.
Cloudbass people are taught to always look for these opportunities
and are given the support to raised their ideas, often in the face
of traditional wisdom.
Our clients have come to rely on innovation, whether it is in the
form of a better way to patch a truck right up to a cutting edge
editing system to work in realtime to edit as a show is being filmed,
Cloudbass is always looking to break the rules.

Dual
Discipline
Within
the UK TV industry a culture has emerged that puts people into roles
and actively discourages people from exploring their potential in
other roles. Cloudbass firmly believe that 50% of the person on
site has nothing to do with skills, but more to do with attitude
and ability to adapt and cope with a production environment. As
such, the actual skillset, whilst extremely important, is something
that can easily be extended with the right people.
Not only this, but having an understanding of what other departments
are doing allows a crew member to be better at their particular
task. For example, a Sound Guarantee who is also an EVS op better
understands how feeds need to be provided on a router for an EVS
op. Cloudbass actively encourages this and we firmly believe that
our crew are better for it. |

Support
and Learning
Cloudbass
was born out of academia and projects that were undertaken purely
to see what could be achieved. This sense of adventure is vital
in pushing the boundaries. Too often crew become stuck in a groove
that prevents them from breaking into new areas or being innovative.
The culture that CB has around its staff and freelancers provides
support and knowledge that encourages people to grow. If one of
our people get stuck with something on site then chances are there
is someone on the end of the phone that can help.
Not only this, but CB people are encouraged to learn and share knowledge
when back at base. WikiBass is CB's own version of Wikipedia, which
allows all our people to share not only generic knowledge, but also
job specific knowledge which allows our crew to provide a more consistent
service.
